QCNR Graduation
Graduation Events
This year's graduation will be held April 30 and May 1, 2025. Students finishing summer/fall 2024 or spring/summer 2025 are invited to participate in this year's ceremony, which includes the university commencement (Wednesday, April 30 at 7 pm) and the QCNR convocation (Thursday, May 1 at 10:30 am). The commencement ceremony will include the traditional walk from the Quad to the Spectrum and subsequent program that includes all colleges. A clear bag policy will be in effect for all commencement events. The college convocation will include a reading of names of each student and a personal recognition. At convocation you will also receive a diploma cover and a professional photo.
Deadlines
All students wanting to participate in spring 2025 graduation events must submit an application by February 28, 2025 to the USU Registrar's Graduation page.
Caps and Gowns
Participants in ceremonies should wear authorized caps and gowns. Commencement apparel is available for purchase at the Graduation Fair in Logan, March 18-19, 2025, or online from the USU Campus Store. Please contact the QCNR dean's office if it is a hardship to purchase a cap and gown.
Dee Glen Smith Spectrum
900 East 900 North, Logan, UT
Graduates who wish to participate in the processional on the Logan campus should be lined up on the Quad by 6 pm and will proceed to the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum at 6:30 pm. The program will include the awarding of honorary degrees and commencement speeches.
Daines Concert Hall
600 North 1150 East Logan, UT
All graduating students (both undergraduates and graduate students) should have filled out an RSVP. Please watch your USU email for information.
Schedule:
- Processional Line Up: All graduating QCNR students (including BS, MNR, MoER, MS, and PhD) should meet in the Visual Fine Arts building in the Impact Commons area by 10:00 am in regalia (on the second floor of the Chase Fine Arts Center, directly south of the Tippetts & Eccles Galleries).
- The QCNR Convocation will begin at 10:30 am in the Newel and Jean Daines Concert Hall on the USU Logan campus.
- Graduate names will be read and you will walk on stage to receive your diploma cover. Candidates for master's and doctoral degrees will also be recognized individually in a hooding ceremony.
- Immediately following the event, QCNR will host a social for graduates and guests in the NR atrium and patio area. Aggie Ice Cream and appetizers will be served.
Graduating students may choose to attend a commencement event at any USU campus across the state. See Statewide Campus Graduation for more details and instructions about participation.
