Biography

Jennifer Courtwright is a PhD candidate working with Dr. Chuck Hawkins and a research scientist with the National Aquatic Monitoring Center (NAMC) at USU. Broadly her research and work at NAMC focuses on development and communication of ecological assessment tools for state and federal agencies For her dissertation, she is integrating probabilistic biological, chemical, and physical habitat assessments to inform assessments of watershed integrity and identify biological stressors across the western U.S. Jennifer has been working for NAMC for 12 years since receiving her MS in biology in 2012 from James Madison University. Her work at NAMC has included managing the macroinvertebrate identification service center, playing a lead role developing the Bureau of Land Management’s lotic Assessment Inventory and Monitoring program, and leading database management and analytical tool development.
