Biography
Dom is a Watershed Science MS student in the Belmont-Murphy lab working on post-wildfire sediment flow modeling. He earned his Bachelor's of Environmental Engineering with a minor in Horticulture from the University of Minnesota in 2021, then worked as a water resources design engineer at a civil engineering consulting firm in the Twin Cities metro. While in Minnesota, Dom surveyed stormwater ponds by kayak, inspected erosion control practices, worked with hydrologic and hydraulic computer models, and designed stormwater management infrastructure. He also volunteered on a drinking water project in rural Guatemala and several local rainwater projects with Engineers Without Borders. Dom is excited to be a part of the USU community and explore all that Utah has to offer! In his free time, he enjoys outdoor human powered modes of transport, growing veggies, and baking sourdough bread with mixed results.
