Adrián is an MSc student working with Dr. Trisha Atwood in the Watershed Sciences Department. He is studying the relationship between marine fisheries and nutrient cycling, with an emphasis on the extraction of carbon, nitrogen, and phosphorous via fish removal. Adrián received his BS in Ecology and Environment from the University of Michigan while simultaneously working with the US Geological Survey studying the relationship between ecosystem health and juvenile fish diets in the Great Lakes. After graduating, Adrián spent a year working with a non-profit, Caras con Causa, in his home of Puerto Rico doing environmental monitoring, restoration, and education work with K-12 students. When he's not digging through papers, you can find Adrián looking for the nearest body of water to kayak/paddleboard on, at home trying not to screw up new recipes, or in front of his computer clearing his backlog of video games.
