Biography
Faculty Advisor: Dr. Karin Kettenring
Hailey is an M.S. Ecology student advised by Dr. Karin Kettenring in the Department of Watershed Sciences. Hailey's research focuses on the ecological, logistical, and financial tradeoffs in precision vs. risk mitigation wetland revegetation approaches. Hailey earned her B.S. in Geography from Illinois State University in 2020. She then worked as an ecological restoration technician for two years doing year-round field work restoring Illinois' native prairies, wetlands, and forests. Hailey also worked as a supervisor for two summers at Teton County Weed & Pest leading invasive species control crews on the National Elk Refuge in Jackson, Wyoming. In her free time, Hailey enjoys hiking, reading, embroidering, and spending time with her cat.
