Biography
Faculty Advisors: Drs. Janice Brahney and Scott Hotaling
Anna is a Ph.D. Candidate working with Dr. Janice Brahney and Dr. Scott Hotaling. Her research focuses on impacts of melting glaciers on mountain freshwater systems with a focus on the effects of atmospheric deposition on freshwater ecosystem function. Her research interests include biogeochemistry, freshwater ecology, and the fading cryosphere. Anna earned a B.S. in Biology and Environmental Policy and Decision Making from the University of Puget Sound and an M.S. in Ecology from Colorado State University. She has also worked for the National Park Service’s Sierra Nevada Inventory and Monitoring Network and Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks on aquatic ecosystem monitoring and restoration projects in the High Sierra. In her free time, Anna enjoys running around the mountains, biking, fermenting veggies, and knitting.
