Biography
Faculty Advisor: Dr. Karin Kettenring
Loren is a Master's student advised by Dr. Karin Kettenring in the Wetland Ecology and Restoration Lab. Her research focuses on the evaluation of the tools, techniques, and human dimensions guiding voluntary native wetland plant restoration in the GSL. Originally from Kentucky, Loren graduated from Eastern Kentucky University with a B.A. in Wildlife Management. She served as the state Avian Biologist for the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources for five years. After relocating to Southeastern Idaho, she worked with multiple partners on beaver-human conflict resolution and wetland conservation which inspired her to pursue graduate work focused on aiding restoration practitioners and land managers. Loren’s other interests include backpacking, rafting, horseback riding, and gardening.
