Biography
Faculty Advisor: Dr. Janice Brahney
Jerin is a first year Ph.D. student working for Dr. Janice Brahney on a project interested in hydrological throughfall effects across various U.S. canopies. He earned both his B.S. and M.S. from the University of Nebraska in the School of Natural Resources. He has had the opportunity to work on multiple surface and groundwater research projects critical to understanding the current conditions of the High Plains Aquifer. During his time in a plant science lab, he assisted with different agronomy, ecology, plant physiology and phenomics projects regarding grazing density effects on smooth brome, fertilizer effects to reproductive stages of dent corn and the expansion of eastern red cedars across the High Plains. During his graduate studies, he evaluated effects to diesel fuel efficiencies in response to federal exhaust emission standards. His free time is filled with tinkering on frustrating vehicles, enjoying Middle Eastern cuisine, canoeing and working up an embarrassing sweat while playing ping pong.
