Biography
Faculty advisor: Dr. Scott Hotaling
Josh is an MS student in Scott Hotaling’s lab studying invertebrate communities in alpine streams using DNA barcoding methods. Prior to graduate school, Josh received his BS in Biology from Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan. While completing his undergraduate degree, he participated in genomics research on the blueberry stem gall wasp and became passionate about ecology, evolutionary biology, and computational biology. Broadly, he is interested in leveraging genetic data to better understand biodiversity within vulnerable ecosystems. In his free time, Josh enjoys playing and watching soccer and spending time with his rabbit, Oswald.
