Biography
Alex is pursuing a master's degree in fluvial geomorphology under the guidance of Dr. Stephen Bennett. Alex is a stream restoration practitioner in Oregon and Washington utilizing low-footprint, scalable strategies to restore western riverscapes. Alex's research concerns a low-tech, process based restoration experiment in the Asotin Creek Intensively Monitored Watershed. His research goals include assessing channel response to large wood additions over time, with an emphasis on watershed disturbances such as wildfire. Alex graduated Eckerd College with a BS in Biochemistry and has worked in rivers and wetlands ever since.
