Biography
Andrew is an M.S. Fisheries Biology student advised by Dr. Chad Teal in the Department of Watershed Sciences. Andrew’s research focuses on the development of innovative methods for invasive species population control of Channel Catfish using
feminization and spawning techniques. Andrew is originally from Colorado where he received a B.S. in Fish, Wildlife, and Conservation Biology from Colorado State University in 2023. Andrew spent a summer as an intern hatchery technician at the
Leadville National Fish Hatchery in Leadville, Colorado. During his time at the Leadville National Fish Hatchery, Andrew was able to play a critical role in genetic studies on native trout. He also gained extensive experience with fieldwork projects involving invasive species population research and native trout restoration projects. Andrew is very excited for the opportunity to be a part of the USU community and to contribute to the development of aquatic invasive species management.
