QCNR Undergrad Christian Stewart Presents Research on Capitol Hill

Christian Stewart, a Watershed Sciences major and undergraduate researcher was among 26 Aggies selected to present research posters to state legislators and visitors to Utah’s Capitol Hill in Salt Lake City on Friday, January 20. These USU scholars serve as academic ambassadors, present cutting-edge studies and highlighting the importance of undergraduate research experiences for students, local communities and the State of Utah.
Christian researched the effects of transbasin water diversions (pipelines that transfer water across watershed boundaries) in Utah. He synthesized existing research and interviewed officials from across the state to inform the public on how current transbasin diversions affect the water supply of the Wasatch Front and how future decisions involving transbasin diversions will have significant effects on Utah's water supply.
