NAMC provides guidance to collaborators to assist with environmental assessment study design and analysis. We have expertise in probabilistic regional random sampling designs (e.g. GRTS) as well as Before After Control Impact (BACI) or other causal study designs. We seek to communicate the latest techniques in ecological research to land managers while appreciating practical constraints of timelines and available data. By hearing from land managers about their needs, we seek to improve our research and tool development to better meet the needs of collaborators. Reach out to jennifer.courtwright@usu.edu if you have questions. Some example projects that we have assisted with are below:
- BLM UT – Statewide assessment of chemical, physical, and biological condition and a causal analysis to determine land use drivers of specific conductance exceedances
- BLM CO- San Luis Valley Field Office – Change overtime of invertebrate biomass in playas in Blanca Wetland Area of Critical Environmental
- USFS Mineral creek ecological assessment study design
- USFS impacts of rotenone on macroinvertebrates
