Park Ranger Aide

 

The Utah Department of Natural Resources, Department of Parks and Recreation is offering four seasonal Park Ranger Aide Positions at Coral Pink Sand Dunes near Kanab, UT. Housing is available, benefits are not provided.

 

Opening date: 1/4/2021

Closing Date: Until Filled

Anticipated Employment Dates: May 10 – July 31 (12 weeks) The start and end dates are flexible with the possibility of additional work in April and August if the applicant is available. 

Salary: $12.50 per hour

Estimated Hours per Week: 40

 

Job Descriptions: ·       Assist in daily operations ·       Provide customer service ·       Staff entrance stations ·       Collect park fees ·       Perform maintenance of park buildings and grounds ·       Check-in and assist incoming campers ·       Greet park visitors ·       Clean restrooms and facilities ·       Provide interpretative information ·       Facilitate operating sand board rental business ·       Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements: ·       18 years of age or older ·       Valid Utah drivers license ·       Ability to work in an outdoor setting ·       Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays ·       Competently operate a computer with internet based programs ·       Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision ·       Able to lift at least 20 pounds ·       Successfully pass a criminal history background check

 

Preference may be given to applicants with experience in: cash handling, accounting and reporting; customer service; education in a related natural resource field; operation of various maintenance and grounds keeping equipment; off-highway vehicle (OHV) knowledge
