Pursuing MS Ecology - Faculty Advisor: Dr. Phaedra Budy & Dr. Casey Pennock
Barrett is an MS student in Ecology focusing on the non-native fish assemblage in Lake Powell, and the possibility of these fishes traversing Glen Canyon Dam and becoming established in the lower Colorado River. He is co-advised by Dr. Phaedra Budy and Dr. Casey Pennock. Barrett earned his BS in Fisheries Biology at Colorado State where he assisted with fish passage research. Prior to this degree, he had an engineering career primarily focused on supporting geophysics research into plate tectonics and volcanic activity. His engineering degrees were obtained at New Mexico Tech (MS) and Colorado School of Mines (BS). Barrett can reliably be found with a fly rod in hand when not on his mountain bike or climbing rocks.
