Pursuing MS in Ecology - Faculty Advisors: Dr. Phaedra Budy & Dr. Casey Pennock
Ben is an MS student who is co-advised by Dr. Phaedra Budy and Dr. Casey Pennock in the Fish Ecology Lab. Ben is originally from Minnesota where he received a BS in Aquatic Biology from Bemidji State University. Prior to becoming a graduate student, Ben spent three years in Arizona as a fish biologist at the Native Fish Lab of Marsh and Associates where he further developed his passion for aquatic conservation. His MS project is focused on assessing the effects of woody structure on desert fish communities by implementing a wood addition experiment on the San Juan River in New Mexico and Utah. Ben is honored to join the community at USU and is thrilled for the opportunity to assist in the conservation of imperiled Southwestern fishes.
